Getting paid on site

The goal: drive off with the invoice already sent. Once there's time on the job, Mark complete on the job screen takes you straight to the invoice.

Edit and Preview

The invoice screen has two tabs:

  • Edit — the Total due card (Services / Extended work / VAT at 20 percent) and the lines beneath it. Lines built from the job carry an "Auto-drafted" tag so you can see what came from the booking versus what you've added.
  • Preview — the rendered invoice document, exactly as the customer will see it.

Save is safe to press twice. It creates one draft invoice for the job and keeps updating that same draft — you'll never spawn duplicates by saving again.

If the job ran over

If your tracked time beat the time included in the price, a card appears: "Ran over the included time" — for example, Tracked 95 min · the price covers 60 min. That's 35 min extra at £60/hr = £35. Two buttons:

  • Bill it — adds an "Extended work" line for the extra at the office's rate.
  • Waive it"Customer pays the quoted price. The office still sees the time you put in."

Either way it's applied on the server, and the quoted total never moves silently — the customer only pays more if you tapped Bill. The allowances and rate behind the card are set by the office — see Time tracking & field invoicing.

Send pay link with the total on the button is the outward step: it mints a real Stripe payment link, texts and emails it to the customer, and marks the invoice sent. The customer needs a phone number or email on file. When it lands you'll see "Pay link sent" — and you'll get a ping the moment they pay.

Prefer paper-ish? The share icon exports a real PDF through the phone's share sheet — WhatsApp it, AirDrop it, print it.

How payments and card fees work on the business side is in Billing & credits.

Tap to Pay

Taking the card on your iPhone is on its way — the screen says so honestly and offers "Send a pay link instead", which is today's path. The pay link takes the same cards; the customer just taps it on their own phone instead of yours.
