Jobs & the live map

The Jobs tab is the day, movable. The Map tab is the day, on the road. Between them you can reshuffle the diary, hand a job to the right engineer, and see who's where — without ringing anyone.

Three views of the same day

Switch view flips between list, board and calendar. Search sits at the top, with filter chips for All, To schedule, On site and Invoice due — "Invoice due" is the money you've earned but not billed yet.

The list groups the day the way you'd triage it:

  • TODAY — what's on right now, in time order.
  • UPCOMING — the rest of the diary.
  • NEEDS SCHEDULING — booked but not slotted; these are the ones to drag onto the calendar.
  • DONE · INVOICE THEM — finished work with no invoice yet. Clearing this section is what Money on the move is for.

The writes are real

This isn't a read-only mirror — it's the same board the office sees on the web, and your changes land the moment you make them:

  • Drag a board card between columns to move a job. The toast confirms it — "Moved to …" — and the web board updates immediately.
  • Drag on the calendar to reschedule. The job's time changes for real, and the toast says "Rescheduled".
  • Assign on an unassigned row opens the Assign engineer sheet — your real team list — and one tap puts the job on that person's day.

If Smart Dispatch is on, new bookings arrive with an engineer already suggested by skill, distance and fairness — the Assign sheet is for the ones you want to place by hand.

Why there's no "new job" button

Deliberate. New work comes in through Sarah — by phone, yours or the customer's — so the booking flow always runs in full: identity captured, service picked, slot agreed, arrival window promised. A job typed straight into a form skips all of that, and the gaps surface later as a wrong address or an unpriced visit. If you need something in the diary, call your own line and tell Sarah.

The job screen

Tap any row for the full job — the same screen your crew see:

  • The status pill, the customer, and a street-level map with Navigate.
  • Fact tiles: Scheduled / Engineer / Price / Invoice — the four things you'd otherwise ring the office to ask.
  • The activity timeline — the job's real history: notes, texts, status changes.
  • "Running over? Hand it to Sarah" — a live call to sort the knock-on: extend the job, note why, text the next customer.

You can start a job from here too, if you're the one standing on the drive.

The Map tab — who's on the road

Every van, route and job on one map — with the privacy rules printed on the screen.

The Map tab draws the whole day: team members with live GPS dots, colour-coded routes per crew member, today's jobs, your sites and locations, and drive ETAs. Positions and presence refresh every half minute.

The On the road sheet lists everyone with a presence pill — Live, Recently, Paused or Off — plus their current and next job. That's usually all you need: a glance tells you who's mid-job, who's between stops, and who's paused their sharing.

Tap any pin for the quick actions:

  • Navigate — opens the address in your maps app.
  • Call — dials the customer or the crew member.
  • Quick message — canned lines like "On my way" sent as a real SMS from the business number, so the customer sees your business, not your mobile.
  • Open — the full job screen.

The privacy rules, on the screen

The status bar reads: "N of N crew sharing location · Working hours only · pings wiped after 30 days". Those aren't captions — they're server-enforced rules. Location is only captured during configured working hours, any crew member can pause sharing at any time (they show as Paused, with no record of where they paused), and raw location pings are wiped after 30 days.

The full story, written for the crew member, is in Location & privacy.
