Location & privacy

Location sharing is what makes the "on my way" texts and the live route work — but it's your toggle, it only runs in working hours, and the rules are enforced on the server, not by the app promising to behave. Here's the full picture.

What is shared, and when

Your location goes to the office only when both are true: your sharing toggle (on My Day or Me) is on, and you're inside working hours set by the office.

While sharing, the app sends a position roughly every 30 seconds or 50 metres in the foreground. On a full install it can also update in the background — about every 60 seconds or 75 metres — and iOS/Android show a persistent notification while it does: "Sharing location with the office — Working hours only, pause anytime from Me." If you can't see that notification, you're not sharing in the background.

What is never shared

• The "Me" pin on your route map — drawn from your phone locally so you can see where you are on the day's route. Never sent anywhere.
• The arrival prompt — the "you've arrived, start the timer?" banner uses a local fix on your phone. The office only learns you're on site when you tap Start.
• Your teammates' locations — you can never see where other crew are, and the app has no screen that shows it.

Enforced on the server

The rules aren't just app settings — the server refuses the data:

• A ping that arrives outside working hours is dropped.
• A ping that arrives while you're paused is dropped.
• Flip the toggle off and the office stops seeing you immediately.

So even a misbehaving phone can't share you out of hours.

Pausing and clocking out

• Pause (the toggle) stops sharing straight away — and there's no log of where you paused. Paused means gone, not "last seen near".
• Clock out for the day (on Me) stops tracking and takes the app back to the PIN screen. Done for the day means done.

Auto-wipe after 30 days

Location history is wiped automatically after 30 days — a nightly server job deletes it. Job-visit records (which job you attended, when) live with the job itself, but the trail of raw positions does not build up.

Why share at all

When you're sharing, the office map shows the day flowing, customers get accurate "on the way" texts, and nobody rings you to ask where you are.
